Jonathan Terranova was born in Queens, New York to two Sicilian immigrants. He has studied at The School of Visual Arts in New York City as well as Flagler College in St. Augustine, FL. Currently he is attending graduate school at The Savannah College of Art and Design in Atlanta, GA, where he was awarded an Artistic Honors Fellowship and will be receiving his M.F.A in painting. Jonathan was awarded a studio for the summer of 2009 in New York City at the Elizabeth Foundation for the Arts. He is currently writing proposals to re-contextualize established showrooms in Altanta with the designed objects depicted in his artist book Infiltration of Opulent Militarism, which uses a catalog as a delivery system to sell a lifestyle of opulence through the fashionable profiteering of war.
