Statement

My aim is to examine the veracity of established political systems while scrutinizing those who occupy them. In a culture where corruption and greed have become evermore prevalent and are seen as cultural norms my work becomes a delivery system for information and social change. By following different developments within political systems like the Military Industrial Complex, Corporatocracy, and the Monetary System, I let those developments inspire the concepts for my work. As an interdisciplinary artist I allow the concept to dictate my material choices.

Many aspects of the military have circulated through popular culture. From developing technologies that became commonplace within our society to vehicles and clothing, the introduction of these items has become a business that has made the military fashionable and increasingly profitable.

Infiltration of Opulent Militarism aims to sell a lifestyle of opulence through the fashionable profiteering of war. By cross-pollinating various motifs found on U.S currency with contemporary military patterns, I create new patterns to infiltrate various environments in order to question our level of desire for these objects.
